چکیده

Abstract This research aims to evaluate the physical and mechanical characteristics of soil stablized with microbial induced cementation method. The variation by 4%, 6%, 8%, while age variations bacterial culture 2, 4, and, 6 days a curing period 3,7,14 28 days. properties studied in this are as optimum moisture content 32.19%, dry volume weight (γd) 1.36 gr/cm 3 , density 2.63 atterberg limit test liquid 46.89% plastic 31 ,94%, plasticity index 14.96% shrinkage 7.49%. compressive strength which was stabilized 6% solution Bacillus subtilis bacteria for 4 found be 19.96 kg/cm 2 at or an increase times from not 3.02

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Soil Improvement By Microbiological Cementation

Beginning of the twentieth century, population growth, urbanization and industrialization has led to depletion of rapidly building areas. Accordingly, each passing day, the opening of the new construction sites has become mandatory. Among these newly opened areas, geotechnical aspects of construction from time to time in areas not suitable for construction and deployment was seen to improve the...

The Effect of Geopolymerization on the Unconfined Compressive Strength of Stabilized Fine-grained Soils

This study focuses on evaluating the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of improved fine-grained soils. A large database of unconfined compressive strength of clayey soil specimens stabilized with fly ash and blast furnace slag based geopolymer were collected and analyzed. Subsequently, using adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), a model has been developed to assess the UCS of stabi...

“Cohesive Soil”: A Dangerous Oxymoron

The geotechnical literature is not exempt from oxymorons. For example, analytical solutions for interparticle contact clearly show that soils and all particulate materials are inherently non-linear -Hertz theoryand non-elastic -Mindlin’s theory (See Richart, Hall and Woods, 1970; Cascante and Santamarina, 1996). Yet, “linearelastic soil behavior” is a common expression. In most cases it refers ...
